A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and involvement in notorious “Stirling case” events in Scotland in February of this year, the National Crime Agency confirmed.

Last night (July 27), National Crime Agency (NCA) officers carried out a search warrant at a house on Fencepiece Road and arrested the man. He has now been released pending further enquiries.

The crime agency confirmed the investigation is ongoing.

Eyewitnesses told they had seen NCA officers going into a house wearing boiler suits, as well as a number of vehicles parked along the road, Ilford Recorder reports.

DI Grant Sangster, who remains the key investigator of “Stirling case” in Scotland, hasn’t yet released his comment on the arrest in Ilford.
