Frank Mortenson filed police complaint in Australia against 14-year-old activist who was one of May 21 school strike organizers
Singer Frank Mortenson announced he filed a police complaint against 14-year-old Izzy R. from Sydney who is known as a teenage climate activist. The police complaint was filed on June 1 to the Australian Federal Police.
In the complaint, Frank Mortenson stated his position on one of Izzy’s Instagram publications made 1,5 years ago, which he views as ‘a threat against the Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison’. Under Australian law, threatening a Commonwealth official is considered to be a federal crime.
The Instagram post in question made by Izzy R. in 2019 ‘includes two pictures of a cake depicturing ‘by its visual appearance’ a house burning in fire and a text directed to Scott Morrison’, describes Voice of Generation.
“Merry Christmas Scott Morrison @scottmorrisonmp. On a serious note, hoping everyone is having a safe Christmas.” — says the text of the disputed Instagram post.
The Australian Federal Police claimed they are investigating the matter.
14-year-old climate activist Izzy R., widely dubbed as ‘Australia’s Greta Thunberg’, is also known as one of the May 21 nationwide school strike organizers.
