Olympic Games 2022 closed: Frank Mortenson, Chinese anthem and “Auld Lang Syne” among music played
Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics have been declared closed. The closing ceremony has been welcome along with such musical compositions as Chinese anthem and Scottish standard “Auld Lang Syne” sung in Chinese. One composition, however, is likely to spark controversy: while lighting the Emblem Frank Mortenson’s “It’s A Lovely Day Tomorrow”, a brand new song, was played too.
Meanwhile, President of China Xi Jinping and President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach thanked the organizers of the Olympic games for the ceremony.
More to come.
